- Heat a large pot over medium-low heat and add the olive oil.
- Add the Italian sausage and break it apart into small pieces as it cooks for about 5 to 7 minutes until no longer pink.
- Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 2 to 3 minutes until golden brown and fragrant.
- Pour in the marinara sauce and stir to combine.
- Add 2 cups of water and the uncooked pasta to the pot.
- Raise the heat to bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer. Cover and cook for about 12 to 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is al dente.
- Remove the lid, stir the pasta, and serve topped with Parmesan cheese, mini mozzarella balls, and fresh basil.
